Key responsibilities:

  • Lead technical delivery teams in complex programmes with a mix of improvement work and live service operations/support, ensuring that our output and outcomes (solution designs at HLD and LLD level, code, documentation, quality, releases etc) meet/exceed our delivery commitments
  • Consult with clients and participate in architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful, efficient deployment, operation and support, passing necessary governance (eg TDA, EAB)
  • Lead technical estimating work across multiple projects, phases and client engagements
  • Build and sustain strong working relationships with senior technical and delivery individuals within our customer organisations, building trust and advocacy for our services, helping promote us as a go-to' vendor for technical delivery; engaging with TDA and EAB functions, representing our interests and championing delivery
  • Support and mentor more junior team members (both Methods' and client staff where needed),
  • Support technical knowledge transfer outcomes (eg handover to clients, documentation, mentoring client staff, presenting to TDA or EAB forums etc)
  • Support Methods' communities of practice, to build our expertise and collateral in this area both internally as well as engaging wider external communities with events and hackathons etc
  • Review Risks/Issues and Dependencies regularly (in partnership with DM, PO and wider team), escalating concerns promptly both to Methods and through relevant Customer governance channels

Secondary:

  • Support pre-sales activity by developing compelling solution approach summaries, high level designs, estimates, presentations, product demonstrations and discussions (to support our sales and marketing team as they prospect, as well as bidding for specific opportunities)
  • Author and contribute to customer and industry-facing publications such as whitepapers, blogs, articles etc, expressing our professional opinion
  • Advise partners, Methods pre/sales & technical teams on best practice for customer facing solutions. This can be both a proactive activity where you build a plan with the partner to pursue a specific technical scenario, or it can be a reactive response to a customer need or request for proposal

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in a hands-on architecture role(s) designing and implementing distributed, containerised and server-less hyperscale systems on public cloud platforms (in particular Azure)
  • Extensive knowledge of configuration management and Infrastructure as Code tooling, practises and processes (eg Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, ARM) leveraging CI/CD tooling and processes (eg Jenkins, CircleCI, Code Pipeline)

  • Educated to post-graduate level, or equivalent industry experience
