Voyage Care lives its values by promising to EMPOWER each other, work TOGETHER, promote HONESTY, be a leader in OUTSTANDING quality and to always be SUPPORTIVE in everything we do…. Could this be you?

About the Role:

Mannering Avenue is one of our residential services located in Dumfries where we support 8 adult males with learning disabilities, mental health and complex needs.

As a senior support worker you will lead a team of support workers to deliver exceptional care by modelling good and reflective practice. You will promote resilience and enthusiasm throughout the staff team to ensure everyone works effectively and cohesively in the best interests of the people we support. You will be involved in the day to day maintenance of support plans, reviews, medication, finances and supervisions in addition to other responsibilities and duties.

You must be resilient, flexible and composed in your approach as this will be a challenging environment to work in, although equally rewarding. You will understand the importance of reflective practice and be involved in debriefs and incident analysis to ensure the best possible outcomes for the individual.

Whilst no two days are the same typically, you will have a hands on approach to lead the team to support the individuals with everyday challenges such as encouraging and prompting personal cares, meal preparation, housekeeping, medication, attending health appointments and taking part in hobbies & activities. Crucially, enabling them to carry out tasks, chores and hobbies that most people take for granted but are meaningful to the people we support.

Due to the nature of the role, you should have previous senior or leadership experience within a similar environment.

This is a full time position which will include working on a rota basis covering days and waking nights.
