To be responsible for the day-to-day management of the financial operation for the Engineering and Training Services business. To ensure financial integrity of the contract accounting in line with the requirements of the contract and the day to day operations team. To play a key part in the combined finance team and to support the business as it grows and transitions to new systems.

To manage and report all costs and revenues of projects within the month end deadlines. Actively challenge project costing information (past, present and forecast) to ensure its robustness and integrity are plausible. Assist in the production of all financial information required to update the accounts.
Manage with all finance tasks not limited to the production of B.V.E. monthly financial management accounts and associated reports for submission to Central Finance for consolidation in line company reporting procedures.
Ensure the integrity of the B.V.E business unit P & L accounts including any balance sheet adjustments by way of project cost scrutiny, planning to ensure all costs are allocated correctly, timely within the system parameters
Oversee all billing processes
Ensuring the month end adjustments are relevant and accurate and can be claimed in line with the projects contractual T & C's, and that the matching principles are consistently applied within projects
Assist the process of budgeting & forecasting, including all additional BIG information requirements for all work streams/projects. Also obtain information to enable a rolling forecast to be produced within work streams on a monthly basis. This is to involve bottom up budgeting to ensure we have comprehensive budgets in place that are open to challenge and will help to produce detailed management accounts.
Control & compile all financial information for the monthly management meetings and business unit meetings and ensure the financial information is accurate and available ahead of the meeting.
Review month end journals and adhoc journals, and ensure a monthly reconciliation between the General Ledger and the monthly contract sheet are done, investigating and resolving any variances
Assist the Senior Finance manager & Head of Finance when required
To be a main point of contact for finance based queries from both customers and suppliers
Work within established Company policies and procedures
Promote company values and standards
Maintain excellent levels of communication throughout the team and the wider business
Carry out any other duties as and when necessary to meet the varying demands of the business and satisfy customer needs
Protect the information assets of the Company and comply with the Company's Information Assurance policies and proceduresProfile
Good I.T skills - knowledge of MS packages, IFS & Navison (or similar)
Ability to work as part of a team and to tight deadlines
Be able to prioritise work to ensure the tasks that add the highest value are prioritised
Analytical with the ability to interpret data effectively
Demonstrable competence in full contract accounting from both a balance sheet and P&L perspective
Experience working within a commercial environment
Proven ability to build long lasting relationships across the wider business
Is qualified within a professional Accounting Qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
