Job Title: Accountant

Salary: £35000 - £40000

Location: Scunthorpe


Our client, a flourishing and innovative manufacturing business, is looking to recruit a commercially focused Accountant to join the team. Reporting to the Administration Director you will provide accounting support to managers throughout the business.


*Preparation of weekly, monthly management & yearend accounts
*Manage cash flow and bank transactions, including posting cash to Access, reconciling the bank accounts, maintaining the Bank spreadsheets, processing weekly purchase ledger payment runs and sending BAC's and CHAPs through the banking software seeking authorisation for every payment
*Obtain authorised data from sites and process central payroll weekly, and set up, manage and maintain all software, documents, records and personnel files for approx. 100 weekly staff
*Manage month end files on a weekly basis to reconcile data, make corrections and post journals for Assets & depreciation, Standing Charges, Tooling, Payroll, Recharges and others as required
*Reconcile and file online statutory returns and statistic data as required including monthly Intrastat & EC Sales, quarterly VAT returns and PAYE submissions
*Collate all weekly P&L information and distribute copies to the Plant Managers and other stakeholders as required
*Liaise with Plant Administrators to ensure that all accounting transactions are processed correctly in a timely and professional manner and relay issues back to the Administration Director
*Obtain authorisation & complete necessary documentation for and set up & monitor all new account record requests, including New Employees, Credit checks, Customers, Suppliers, Stock or Price codes
*Manage statements, reconcile accounts and deal with queries for both Sales & purchase ledger
*Carefully monitor all accounting records on an on-going basis to ensure that all requirements are met and highlight any relevant concerns or issues to the Administration Director
*Ad hoc duties as required


You will be qualified ACCA or CIMA with sound knowledge of manufacturing processes, systems and stock control. You will have excellent analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to develop processes, manage change and adapt quickly to new situations.


Our client operate in the design and manufacturing sector and are market leaders in their field. They supply to a variety of industry sectors including Construction, Packaging, Automotive and Materials Handling. They have 4 sites throughout the UK and are continuing to grow.
