My client a leading Pharmaceutical Company based in Belgium requires a Communication Manager

Job Summary

The vision of my clients European DBT (Digital Business Transformation) Go to Market program is to become a data-analytics driven organization, efficiently working in an agile way to build personalized stakeholder and patient experiences, maximizing digital capabilities to accelerate business impact.

The communication responsible of the EU Digital Business Transformation implements communications strategies including but not limited to thought leadership, internal education, change implementation and public relations as a key contributor of the People and Change Workstream Team in charge of growing and upskilling people skills and mindset around DBT.

In this role, the EU Communication Manager provides project management support to DBT Core team Europe as it relates to communications initiatives, defines and executes the internal communication plan (strategy and tactics) for different internal stakeholders (commercial, medical and others) in-line with the program objectives and business imperatives; while utilizing external digital channels in exemplary ways.

Topics could be very strategic, visionary, while others might be recognizing and sharing good examples, informing peers about little/big wins, failures, learnings.

The overall mission is to ensure an integrated storyline and unified communications approach on how DBT G2M provides enhanced patient value and how DBT is fully embed in the ways of working of each person in his/her role in G2M.

The communication manager also supports DBT Communication Director at global level and Communication Lead at local level in elevating the communication around the digital strategy by providing mentor/expertise/advice on initiatives execution, vendor selection, roadmap and methodologies.

The Communication manager is also part of a community of transformational communicators to ensure global alignment on Digital Transformation Communication.

Major Accountabilities

Key Activities:

Define DBT EU G2M communication strategy and key design principles in alignment with global communications team

Evaluate the specific communication needs, build upon the existing situations/narratives and actively support the full organizational transformation with digital technologies and mindset changes.

Work with G2M Core team Leads to ensure our strategy is clearly communicated and executed to our team members and aligned across Europe and other regions

Work across the business to discover, curate and share compelling stories about our DBT journey

Work with other peers in Communication (global/local/other units) to ensure alignment in stories, messages around DBT at the company;

Lead and manage G2M-EU communications governance, processes and communications channels, informing all internal stakeholders of the progress and requirements of the work

Ensure effective and timely execution of communication initiatives

Develop communications that help different teams understand business objectives and their role in delivering them (from many potential channels, newsletters will certainly be one of the important channels use.)

Monitor and share the engagement and sentiment related to DBT communication (via ACCA framework) and demonstrate an agile working methodology to react and evolve quickly

Identify opportunities to amplify external awareness of Digital Initiatives at the companies meaning:

Writes content for internal and external channels related to DBT, including press materials, thought leadership content, social and web content, newsletters, and more

Supports media relations and public relations strategies related to DBT including pitching, media prep, and key message and Q&A development

Key Qualifications:

Have an extraordinary flair for language and tone, both spoken and in writing.

High proficiency in English, another language is a plus.

Strong writing and storytelling skills, required.

Proven PM experience of complex programs involving very technical and business related topics is key for success

Ability to build collaborative working relationships with team members at all levels and develop strong professional relationships both internally and externally.

Proven experience in using strategic insight and be able to transfer complex content into short and clear messages.

Proven experience in advising on the selection of innovative channels and internal comms tools.

Tech and social media savvy.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

High degree of professional versatility and hands-on capability with an ability to meet challenges consistently and confidently with energy, drive, and personal commitment.

Media relations experience, preferred.

Experience in internal communications, preferred.

Pharma experience preferred.
