Surveyor / Researcher
Would you like to make a difference to thousands of people's lives?
Are you looking for an interesting, varied role with the opportunity to travel throughout the UK?
AccessAble is the UK's most popular and trusted accessibility guide. Our website and App are used by 1.8 million disabled people every year to plan a trip or find places that are accessible to them in their local area.
On the website and App we publish Guides to 10,000s of places. Every place is visited and assessed. We collect 100s of pieces of information, measurements and photographs for each place.
This job is all about visiting those places and collecting the information needed to create the Guides.
This could mean you visit everything from a high street shop to a hospital, a supermarket to park, a hotel to a football stadium.
This role is unique to AccessAble and as a result you will receive in depth, comprehensive training during your induction. You will join a highly motivated, supportive team who work as one to make a difference and help each other.
Where possible, surveyors are given work within their own region, which is commutable. However, you will often be expected to work away from home Monday to Friday.
To be successful you will be eager to learn, have great attention to detail, enjoy meeting new people, be professional and well presented, be confident using MS Office and be happy working independently and as part of a team.
AccessAble covers all expenses associated with travelling and staying away from home for work, this includes hotels, public transport, food and wifi. You will need to have a UK Driving Licence and either use your own car at an agreed mileage rate or be happy to have a company car.
AccessAble gives all employees 10 days occupational sick pay each year, a workplace pension and 20 days annual leave + bank holidays (surveyors also get an additional discretionary 5 days leave at Christmas). All equipment is supplied, and each employee receives a phone allowance to cover any business use.
In addition to these full time permanent roles we also have more flexible contracts which might suit people who have other commitments, are semi-retired or just don't want to work throughout the year. On this basis you would be paid for the days you choose to work.
