Air Personnel are delighted to be supporting their client in Oxford for a Safety and Compliance Manager
Accountable to : Chief Executive Officer.(Accountable Manager)
The Safety and Compliance Manager is responsible to the Chief Executive Officer for:
The overall operation of the Compliance Monitoring (system) and for requesting and/or carrying out remedial actions, with specific responsibilities as follows:
To implement and monitor and maintain the Compliance system and quality assurance programme in accordance with Operations manual Part A.
To monitor operational procedures to ensure safe operational practices.
The establishment and maintenance of regular Compliance inspection, audit and reporting procedures to Company management and the respective Authorities.
From (iii) above recommending new, and/or changes in, procedures to the departmental manager(s) concerned and if appropriate the Accountable Manager.
To chair regular Compliance meetings with key personnel to ensure that all non-compliance’s are followed up with the appropriate remedial action.
To chair post audit meetings with key personnel to ensure that all non compliance’s are followed up with the appropriate remedial action.
The interface of the Flight Operations Compliance system with the Maintenance Quality System.
To ensure that the Accountable Manager is provided with sufficient information to allow resources to be made available for any appropriate remedial action.
Ensuring the completion of independent audits of all aspects of Company flight operations to ensure adherence to all statutory and Company regulations in accordance with the timetable shown at OM A, Section 3. Making recommendations for the remedial actions to rectify discrepancies discovered during the audits
The development, administration and maintenance of an effective company safety management system. The functions of the Safety Manager are to:
Facilitate hazard identification, risk analysis and management.
Monitor the implementation of actions taken to mitigate risks, as listed in the safety action plan.
Provide periodic reports on safety performance.
Ensure maintenance of safety management documentation.
Ensure that there is safety management training available and that it meets acceptable standards.
Provide advice on safety matters.
Ensure initiation and follow-up of internal occurrence / accident
Acting pro-actively concerning safety issues to all Company management and personnel
Ensuring that all reports concerning safety issues are monitored and that they are processed expeditiously.
Ensuring that incidents and accidents are reported as required by legislation.
Ensuring that the Flight Safety Officers distribute relevant safety information to Company personnel
Convening and chairing Safety Action Group Meetings
