Business Development Executive
Darlaston Builders Merchants is one of the Midlands’ leading independent suppliers of building, landscaping, civil engineering and DIY materials. We have four sister companies, BrickExpress, 4bathrooms, DBMCivils and GreyShire Homes, operate a total of 6 branches around the Midlands, including Birmingham and the Black Country, and employ around 90 dedicated staff. All of this is underpinned by a comprehensive delivery fleet and enviable breadth and depth of stock.
Due to an exciting period of growth and continued investment into the business, we are now seeking a high-calibre Business Development Executive to work in conjunction with a vastly experienced and dynamic sales team, focussing on the development of both new and existing civils & major accounts business within the West Midlands and surrounding areas.
This is a prestigious appointment with an appropriately competitive package, reporting directly into the senior management team. Therefore, only candidates who both meet and surpass the following criteria will be considered;
* Strong, current and demonstrable knowledge of the civils and general heavy side markets, including, but not limited to, market trends, competitor activity, key suppliers/manufacturers and product/systems innovation across multiple sectors.
* Demonstrable track record of sales success and stability within similar environments
* Strong commercial acumen with broad responsibility for a large and competitive geographic region
* Ability to plan, strategise and implement effectively
* Indomitable and driven with a real desire to succeed, personable and able to influence key decision makers at all levels
* Ideally come with an element of existing business and an established network of contacts
* Must be able to hit the ground running and make an immediate, tangible impact.
* Must be experienced within a similar role, whether merchant/manufacturer/supplier etc.
* A true team player who can adapt/integrate with ease.
* Ability to develop a sound customer base in line with the company’s KPI targets and values.
