The Cloud Practice is the team that builds large infrastructure for a wide-ranging and diverse set of customers. We help them choose the right tools and services, build highly scalable secure infrastructure and help them manage the maintenance of those environments. We come up with creative solutions to difficult problems and every engineer gets to have a large direct impact on each of those customers.
The team is made up of engineers from all around the country in distributed teams. You can work fully remote or at any Claranet UK office - most people choose a combination of the two. As one of the Cloud Architects of this team, your main role is to assist with the implementation of customer projects. As well as providing ongoing support, helping to drive continuous improvements to customer environments.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the build of new customer environments
- Continually improving technical implementations
- Providing support to our existing customer base
- Diagnosing system failures under pressure
- On-call duties
- Demonstrable experience with of at least one Cloud platform and associated technologies
- Demonstrable experience with modern configuration management tools
- Good knowledge of systems administration
- Basic knowledge of networking
- AWS/ Azure skills
- Terraform / IaC
- Powershell and/or Bash
- Experience in PaaS and IaaS infrastructure
- SQL infrastructure admin/build skills
In addition, the following are highly desirable:
- Experience of at least one scripting or programming language
- Experience with more than one hyper-scaler platform
- Experience with Hashicorp tooling
- Bulk migration
