Overview of business area or project:


  • GBSS Strategy & Transformation department is searching an experienced Senior Business Analyst (BA) to lead and execute multiple functional design efforts within the Business Records Management (BRM) initiative with focus on data management

  • BRM program aims to implement a strategic & global Records Management solution (data model, processes, and IT infrastructure) to replace a historical grown Legacy environment. It is a very complex regulatory and compliance driven global initiative impacting all business divisions and corporate functions at the Bank

  • This Senior BA role is based in Zurich and is an exciting opportunity to lead the global business design for our new wide electronic Archiving solution. The role requires a skilled individual with extensive background in

  • Business Datamodelling: Data cleansing, data enrichment, data migration, data protection or data management (data analysis methods)

  • Structuring records (logical grouping of records) in a standardized way for a global view to support efficient searches and investigations

  • Preferably experience in records management and Project Management

Background in designing Archiving solutions or in general, large scale data or regulatory driven implementation project management/senior BA experience is preferred.


The role reports into the BRM Program Business Lead using agile methods within a SAFe framework


Key Responsibilities:


  • Responsible of development of the Bank's Business Records Management target data model:

  • Design new records data solution, corresponding meta data and related information stored in Corporate Archive Plan

  • Design a standardized records management data model, considering the Bank's record management taxonomy, Standards must meet global need

  • Defining approach for analysis considering re-using existing Bank's environments

  • Create Business Requirements Documents based on stated high level requirements

  • Assume e2e responsibility for data/records management topic allocated

  • Business Analysis of current ELAR (Swiss main archive) data, requirements for data cleaning, data enrichment and data mapping requirements: Aim to prepare for records management data migratio

  • Involve stakeholders (primarily records management dept.) in an agile design process with the Bank's data protection and data organizational functions, regional Compliance Functions ensuring local regulatory and compliance nuances are considered in new data model designs

  • Support product development approval in SCRUM sprints and final approval in Release Train Testing (=UAT); Support or assume (Agile) Product Owner Role

  • Support innovation of cost effective and regulatory compliant records management services and data quality management processes on a global scale; including support of process design and Target Operating Model creation

  • Leading other BRM BAs, specialists from the Bank and 3rd party implementation partner and supporting the data analysis, Datamodelling activities and conceptual data migration preparation

BRM Program:


  • Aims to implement a strategic Records Management solution (operating model, processes, and IT infrastructure)

  • It is a very complex regulatory and compliance driven initiative impacting all business divisions and corporate functions at the Bank

  • The Program is a Bank's Board sponsored, multi-year global initiative, implementation started mid 2020

  • Overall IT & Business program team size ~60 FTE

Challenges Contractor will be facing in this role:


  • As-Is assessment of our current Legacy systems, processes and data quality as a basis to design the new solution

  • Designing and syndicating the target data model for the future records management service, bank wide

  • Challenging environment of a large scale implementation with high demand to deliver top quality; applying SAFe Methodology

Essentials Skills and Qualifications:


  • Data Modeling, data management, or knowledge and experience of data analysis methods (min. 5 years)

  • Senior Business Analysis experience (min. 10 years)

  • Strategic & innovative thinking

  • English

Desired Skills and Qualifications:


  • Records Management experience

  • German language skills are preferred

  • Business process modelling experience is a plus

  • Previous banking experience, particularly in data management or records management

  • SCRUM/SAFe Methodology experience
