Data Architect

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Data Architect to join a project based in Central London who holds SC Clearance. We are considering candidates who will be able to achieve SC clearance.

Minimum (essential) Requirements

• Strong technical design expertise in core data architecture disciplines including Datamodelling, data analysis, metadata management, data transformation, data migration and master data.

• Track record of providing technical leadership within data projects including assurance, mentoring and standards definition. Aware of best practice techniques and methodologies.

• Experience of product or technology selection, either for a project or at enterprise level.

• Excellent client engagement skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders - able to provide thought leadership to clients and the wider industry and to inspire internal staff.

• Highly proficient in at least three mainstream data technologies and aware of wider data technology trends.

• A self-starter able to work with a high degree of uncertainty. We are passionate about developing people - a demonstrated ability in managing, coaching, and developing junior members of your team and wider community.

Desirable

• Competent in defining information handling models and capacity planning across heterogeneous data store technologies.

• Experience of establishing data governance processes.

• Experience of architecting a data lake and solutions that reside within a data lake ecosystem.

• Enterprise Data Architecture experience.

As a Data Architect, you will:

• Work on a digital transformation project for one of our client and help them with data discoveries to create a roadmap for data transformation aligned to enterprise objectives.

• Create and manage a catalogue of all information/data sources held and managed by client - paper, microfilm and electronic

• Create and manage catalogue of data attributes collected and held across all client's systems

• Create and manage a catalogue of all data/information received by client's systems/individuals from other organisations

• Create and manage a catalogue of all data shared by client with other organisations

• Create As-Is Data Map for all client's data:

• Conceptual, Logical & Physical Data models

• Data Lineage mapped through client's systems

• Data Catalogue/Business Definitions

• Application/Data Matrix

• Data/Business Functions Matrix

• Work with client teams to design and implement modern, scalable data solutions using a range of new and emerging technologies

• Work with Agile and DevOps techniques and implementation approaches in the delivery

• Using good communication skills to understand and deliver client requirements

• Bring your experience and ideas to innovative engineering, design and strategy

• Mentor and upskill fellow group members

• Contribute to our internal networks and special interest groups.

• Experience of working Data Architecture using TOGAF/Zachman, and creating standard data and information architecture documents

• Experience in MDM, Metadata Management, Data Quality and Data Lineage tools.

• Act as a Subject Matter Expert to the client organization for cloud end-to-end architecture (networking, provisioning, and management)

• E2E Data Architecture and Lifecycle (including non-functional requirements and operations) management.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, experience working in client collaborative environment, ideally would have come from a consulting background

• Regulatory and Compliance work in Data Management

• Ability to apply analytical and creative thought process.

• Experience with SQL and Oracle and SQL Server

• Proven success in contributing in a multi-location team-oriented environment.

• Ensure delivered solutions are realized in time frame committed; work in conjunction with project sponsors to size and manage scope and risk

• Develop solutions architecture and evaluate architectural alternatives for private, public and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services

• Provide support and technical governance, expertise related to cloud architectures, deployment, and operations

• Experience with NoSQL modern data stores
