Company Overview Husch Blackwell LLP is a full-service litigation and business law firm with multiple locations across the United States, serving clients with domestic and international operations. We have an immediate opening for an Application Developer in any of our office locations or remote/virtually from any location . The Application Developer codes, tests, debugs, documents, and installs both new programs/technologies and changes to existing programs/technologies of a complex nature. Designs programs/technologies under the direction of supervisor with focus on internal and external clients, including but not limited to: attorneys, paralegals, administrative staff, and clients. Essential job functions include: - Analyze end-user data needs and develops user oriented solutions which interface with existing applications. - Write structured application/interface code from specifications conforming to established methodology and standards. - Conduct unit tests of either new or modified applications. - Participate in code reviews to represent reviewed work for adherence to standards and specifications. - Write or revise program documentation, operations documentation, and user guides in accordance with standards. - Maintain and provide support for in-house and third party applications as needed. - Perform research to problems, separating the symptoms from the actual cause, and identifies opportunities to correct the situation. - Understand methodology for problem resolution/product evaluation/alternative selection. - Demonstrate enthusiasm for the use of new technology. - Complete assignments on time and with quality, and suggest opportunities for quality/process improvements. - Understand the value of a project plan. - Identify and communicate the need for resources for tasks or areas assigned. - Adhere to established processes and standards. - Monitor progress on tasks against plan, and reports status to appropriate people on - Planning: Understand the application development life cycle and demonstrates an awareness of established capacity thresholds. Demonstrate awareness of how assigned responsibilities relate to capacity. Provide estimates for assigned tasks. - Build: Understand the basics of the process of gathering requirements. Translate detailed specifications/functional requirements into structured applications programs, scripts, network solutions, or requirements. Create and maintain documentation of work. Execute a test plan and document the results. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - The physical activity of this position: - Reaching. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. - Pushing. Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward. - Pulling. Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion. - Fingering. Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling. - Grasping. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm. - Feeling. Perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips. - Talking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. - Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound. - Repetitive Motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. - The physical requirements of this position: - Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. - The visual acuity requirements including color, depth perception, and field vision: - The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes. - The conditions the worker will be subject to in this position: - The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work). POSITION REQUIREMENTS - Bachelor's degree with major coursework in Computer Science or Information Systems; or combination of education and commensurate work experience required. - Trade Training preferred; 5 years' relevant experience required, preferably in a professional services setting. TECHNICAL SKILL AREAS - MS SQL Server preferred - Scripting languages - Three years' programming experience with .NET architecture - Understanding of Object Orientated Programming and Relational databases - Excellent understanding of XML/HTML/ASP - Experience with REST API's - Experience with Angular or React - Sound understanding of application life cycles and client/server architectures in an enterprise environment. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Employees are entitled to compensation commensurate with skill and experience. The full time base annual salary for this position in the Denver, CO market is expected to range between $88,000 - $129,000. Salaries in other markets will vary depending on market data. Bonus opportunities are non-guaranteed, and are dependent upon individual and firm performance.
