Responsibilities As a Software Engineer Intern, you will work with a team with Personal Systems on projects to: Document and test new software applications Assess new application ideas Enhance products and create new product designs Develop applications (programming) Ensure quality and performance Internship Specifics Linux Systems Engineer This internship is in the engineering team which develops the Z by HP workstation ( The Linux OS team is responsible for system integration, validation, delivery and support of the Linux operating system on Z by HP workstations used by scientists, engineers, analysts and creators. In this internship you will have the opportunity to gain experience working with various popular distributions of Linux: RedHat, Ubuntu, SUSE. Internship project work may include any of the following: Development of automated tests and automated test tools to validate specific Linux functions on Z by HP workstations. Development of tools or infrastructure to enable the factory preinstallation and validation of Linux software components on a Z by HP workstation. Development of configuration check tools to ensure workstation is running specific versions of software components and if diverged then make user recommendations or software updates to update the workstation to the correct versions. Performance profiling of key software applications running on Linux workstations. Education Bachelor's Degree Candidate with a focus on computer engineering, computer science, applied computer technology, or related technical field.
