Description: This is a full-time position as an Information Technology (IT) Director for the Mile High Flood District (MHFD). The IT Director is responsible for managing and directing the District s IT and Geographic Information System (GIS) operations, ensuring the production of efficient and effective technical support services. Duties and Responsibilities: * Responsible for the day-to-day operations of IT including supervising and working closely with the Network Administrator on networking, user services, telecommunications, and other IT functions. * Responsible for the day-to-day operations of GIS tasks including supervising and working closely with the GIS Administrator to design, develop, and implement a uniform GIS information architecture as well as establish policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines related to the GIS platform. * Drive the continuous improvement of IT processes, internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure that all applications, network systems, and other IT assets function properly and are properly safeguarded. * Ensures policies, procedures and technology are implemented to reduce the threats, vulnerabilities, and consequences that could arise from unprotected data and IT systems. * Develops and implements business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss. * Develops, manages, and tracks the IT annual budget for personnel, training, equipment, materials, and all other end-user services related activities. * Works closely with Senior Leadership to ensure all IT and GIS needs are met and align with the District s strategic goals. * Leads development and implementation processes for the District s IT systems. * Analyzes IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics as needed. * Develop, mentor and coach technical staff in building and maintaining relevant technical skills while working to identify and create career growth opportunities. * Establishes and maintains relationships with external IT vendors and service providers. * Manages Enterprise Content Management (ECM) software. * Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field * 10+ years of experience working in IT Operations * 5+ years in a management role, supervising technology teams, overseeing large IT projects * Understanding of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems * Experience with SQL and database management systems * Knowledge of technical design applications: ArcGIS products (including Enterprise, Online, and Desktop) and AutoCAD * Experience with administration of common software applications: Windows Server, Microsoft Office, Office 365, VMWare Desired Qualifications: * Experience with Hyland OnBase and Tyler Systems * IT project management experience * Familiarity with government records management * Local or State government experience * SQL programming and data engineering experience * Experience with GIS Systems and Architecture * Experience with automation and scripting language Key Competencies: * Excellent leadership and decision-making skills * Proficient in the latest technology for IT systems and management * Ability to design efficient, supportable, and maintainable data processing and delivery architectures * Detail and results-oriented; skilled at both planning and hands-on execution * Handles sensitive and contentious classified documents/information in a consistent and confidential manner * Good organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work * Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with teams across the entire organization Physical Requirements: * Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer * Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
