Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has an excellent opportunity for a Business Analyst on a 2 months contract with a possibility of an extension. Main purpose of post As a Business Analyst, with a key focus on Customer Services, you will be responsible for undertaking reviews of business and IT systems to ensure processes and software deliver effective performance for the Council. In doing so, you will be required to deliver innovative solutions that meet the needs of our Worcestershire customers. These solutions will form a key element of our Digital transformation roadmap. The solutions you propose will result in the implementation and development of new workflow processes as well as enhancements to existing systems and you will be responsible for the success of these work packages. Responsibilities Manage key stakeholders within all levels of the council to facilitate the 'demand management' function for the Digital Centre of Innovation team, i.e. interpreting business needs across the entire council and ensure these are enabled by the delivery teams (Digital Delivery, Applications, and Data Intelligence) Review 'as-is' business and system practices of the Council Develop project mandates and business cases Develops business requirement specifications, 'to-be' business processes and recommendations related to proposed solution Develops business process activity diagrams and contribute to the creation of solution mock-ups Deliver 'to-be' solutions relating workflow / tasks, and enhancements Lead testing and ensure issues are identified, tracked and resolved in a timely manner Lead the delivery of new solutions using a variety of cutting edge methodologies e.g. Prince 2, Agile, Lean SixSigma, etc. Provide reports to the relevant governance channels as required, informing them of progress or issues which arise Provide support to staff either line managed or seconded ensuring their continued personal and professional development as appropriate Provide guidance to staff outside project teams who are also involved in projects, including system providers, ensuring their work is undertaken to appropriate time scales and quality Manage the delivery of new solutions, from the initial specification of requirement and feasibility through to the handover to business as usual processes. Ensure that system developments allocated are made in accordance with legislation, Best Value, the corporate plan and other major initiatives such as the Digital Strategy. Generate and support changes in culture and approach to business analysis across the council Contribute and support changes in operational practices and procedures across the council Manage and agree with the business the cost recovery charges for the solution delivered. Establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside Local Government. To maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job, participate in appropriate training activities and encourage and support staff in their development and training To undertake other such duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job To undertake health and safety duties commensurate with the job and/or as detailed in the Directorate's Health and Safety Policy The duties described in this job description must be carried out in a manner which promotes equality of opportunity, dignity and due respect for all employees and service users and is consistent with the Council's Equality and Diversity PolicySkills/Qualification Relevant qualifications to a degree level. Gcse grade A-C including maths and English. Has experience within this sector.
