What will your mission be?
- The Senior Network & Security Engineer will be working on the design of several upcoming network & security projects
- The Senior Network & Security Engineer is in charge of the daily operational management of the IT Infrastructure
Which tasks will you be working on?
- Responsible for keeping the IT infrastructure up and running, as per the service level agreements
- Responsible for WAN, LAN and WLAN support of Office sites and Datacenter
- Manage support tickets (second and third line)
- Ensure that the standards & governance principles of the infrastructure are followed
- Participate in the Change Management process
- Ensure that support documentation is kept up to date
- Propose improvements on network and security level
- Validate the infrastructure and security deliverables in projects, as per the standards
- Responsible for version management
- Support to first line support
- Provide second line support
- Manage third line support
- Propose solutions to meet business requirements
- Create the HLD & LLD for various network and security projects
- Coordinate and work closely with several managed service provides
- Deploy the solutions in the production network in a controlled way
- Ensure a correct handover to operations
- Provide network & security support to larger projects and programs
- Contribute to the writing of RFP's
- FW/Network monitoring
- Advise operational teams
- Writing of detailed migration plans for implementation of significant and major changes
- Writing of high level change descriptions for getting a change approved by the CAB
- Writing of test plans to validate the correct functioning of setups after a change
- Writing of performance troubleshooting reports
Which COMPETENCES do you need for applying?
- The ideal candidate has a Bachelors or Master's Degree in a technology related field (eg Engineering, Computer Software, etc.) or has gained equivalent knowledge by relevant work experience
- 8+ years of experience in multiple IT areas
- Must be able to prove an active experience in the following areas:
- MPLS technology (IGP/LDP/MP-BGP, L2VPN, L3VPN)
- Networks: LAN/MAN/WAN technologies, TCP/IP, Ethernet, and architectures (Layered model, Spanning-tree, multicast, QOS, VRF, HSRP)
- ROUTING (static, BGP, OSPF, redistribution) - thorough BGP knowledge is a must
- End-to-end Qos for business applications and RT streams (voice, video) and network optimization tools
- Tunneling GRE, IPSEC
- DC LAN technology (Spanning-tree, Multi-Chassis Etherchannel, VSS, Thrill/Fabric Path, DC InterconnecT technologies (VPLS, OTV, ...)
- FW (checkpoint, Cisco ASA Firepower, Tufin), experience segregation networks (DMZ, ICS perimeters) and defense-in-depth principles
- Proxy Zscaler/ZPA/Bluecoat
- Radius/NAC/SSLVPN
- Reverse Proxy/Load balancing
- Security logging infrastructure
- Good troubleshooting skills
- WLAN centralized management
- AD with integrated Radius and CA
- Scripting & Powershell
- Infoblox, IPAM
- Citrix/VPN
- Experience with Visio
- Fundamental understanding of IT processes and operational procedures.
- You must possess good interpersonal skills and strong communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to communicate in both technical and non-technical terms.
- You have abilities in a mediator role and are able to ask the correct questions to understand correctly both sides and get to an agreement
- You can work in an autonomous way and are a good team player.
- You are business proficient in English and at least in Dutch or French
- To work full time in all Offices (from home during Corona crisis)
