School based Speech-Language Pathologist Opening - IMMEDIATE
Creative Speech Solutions, LLC (a pediatric therapy center located in Summit and Montclair, NJ) is hiring a full-time and/or part time experienced speech-language pathologist to join our growing team. Speech-language pathologists at Creative Speech Solutions (CSS) specialize in treating children with a wide variety of diagnoses and level of functioning. The duties of this position include providing evaluations and direct therapy for the pediatric population in a school-based setting and not necessarily in our private practice. In addition to direct treatment, responsibilities could also include coding for insurance billing purposes, report writing and treatment collaboration. School based therapy would involve case management, IEP development and adherence to all NJ state special education laws.
Candidates interested in this SLP role at CSS are required to have the following: Master's degree from an accredited speech therapy program NJ State License, Certificate of Clinical Competence and NJ School Certificate (SLS) Minimum of two years of work experience in pediatric private practice and/or school setting Ability to work a flexible schedule during the day Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills and a strong desire to work with children with developmental disabilities Patience, persistence and ability to work independently and as an integral part of a team
It is strongly preferred that candidates interested in this role have one or more of the following: Experience with hearing impaired and/or auditory-verbal treatment. Experience in providing therapeutic services for children with delays or disorders in the areas of: phonological awareness, phonemic awareness, phonics, sight word recognition, vocabulary development, morphology, comprehension, expressive written language skills in the areas of syntax, sentence and paragraph development and expansion for all grade levels. Certification and training in a multi-sensory structured phonics program (e.g. Lively Letters, WKRP, Wilson, LIPS, Orton-Gillingham). Knowledge with the following programs including but not limited to, Project Read Framing Your Thoughts, Diana King's Expressive writing programs, any of the Keys to Literacy Programs (ex. Key Comprehension Routine), and the Writing Revolution/Hochman Method. Certification or continuing education in PROMPT, SOS Feeding, Handwriting without Tears, The Listening Program, and Interactive Metronome.
