Job Summary

The Street Beautification Supervisor position at North Beach Citizens is an opportunity for an individual to promote a community-based initiative while supporting and directing a low-income and formerly homeless demographic in street beautification efforts. This position provides an opportunity to hone ones' leadership, compassion, organization, and community building skills.

Organization:

San Francisco based homeless assistance organization.
Founded in 2001, staff and board members have created a proven, recognized nonprofit model that addresses the needs of its homeless neighbors, and those at risk of being homeless. The success of this program is in creating an atmosphere of trust, integrity, and respect for each individual.

Duties:

· Provide a welcoming environment for our street beautification volunteers, and to help maintain a safe and inviting work environment

  • Liaison with City agencies, vendors, merchants, and residents
  • Responsible for maintaining a high standard of workforce development with clients regarding Company values
  • Ordering supplies and stipends for volunteers
  • Maintaining fiscal responsibility of program costs
  • Reporting grant deliverables such as; bags collected, attendance, number of hours, and costs
  • Update social media on website and Facebook through photos and written communications
  • Maintain all grant requirements and ensure all deliverables are completed in a timely manner within deadline for reimbursements
  • Manage data entry for statistical analysis
  • Daily maintenance of common space

Qualifications:



  • Passionate interest/commitment to the mission of North Beach Citizens

  • A desire to work compassionately and empathetically with homeless and at-risk individuals, who often have mental disabilities and addiction issues

  • Ability to work with respect and grace in crisis situations

  • Ability to effectively communicate with staff, clients, donors, and the community, as well as telephone manners

  • Must have computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, & Excel

  • Ability to multi-task and flexible in a fast-paced environment

  • A successful candidate will be able to work independently in the office and in the community

  • An ability to work with confidential information in a professional manner

  • Monday-Friday, 12:30pm-4:30pm (part-time, 20 hours week)

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, interest in social service, service industry, or public health
