Technical Author

Our client, a designer and manufacturer of high tech equipment used in the military and aviation industries, is looking for a motivated technical author to develop and support user manuals, service guides, quick start manuals and training guides for an engineering audience. You will also assist with marketing material preparation for brochures, their website and their social media channels.

This is a brand new role and as the company's first technical author, you will have the chance to introduce and implement the authoring tool of your choice. It's a great opportunity to make a role your own.

What's needed?

• At least three years' technical writing experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment.
• A background in engineering or manufacturing (work and/or academic).
• The ability to take a highly technical concept and explain it in simple terms.
• The ability to interact and build rapport with engineers (software, hardware, electronics etc.) and other subject matter experts to ask questions and gather information.
• Experience of writing manuals for MOD products or equivalent would be useful
