Lead Technical Engineer

Our superb IT engineering client based out of Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, is seeking to immediately appoint a Lead Engineer to their team. The successful applicant will need to have EXCELLENT communication skills, clear and concise, as this will entail explaining IT issues to non-technically minded clients.

The role:

• Answering and responding to technical queries at 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support levels within our agreed clients SLAs.

• Installation and configuration of network equipment to include: Desktops, Laptops, Servers, Switches, Firewalls, Routers, Phone Systems, etc and associated software
• Ability to take lead on project implementation
• Completing timesheets for both support and installation work carried out
• Network upgrades - Windows server/Exchange server migrations/Desktops
• Working with other engineers to manage job allocations and billing
• Working with MD to propose solutions to clients
Experience / Skills Required:
• Cloud Technologies in particular Office 365 and Azure
• Solid working knowledge of Windows 2012/19 server, Active Directory and Exchange infrastructure and technologies
• A good knowledge of Remote Services, Group Policy
• DNS, DHCP, IAS, Network Policy Server and General TCP/IP
• Solid understanding of Windows Windows 8/Windows 10
• Solid understanding of all Microsoft Office solutions is also required
• Working knowledge of Firewall, WAN Technologies, Network Infrastructure and VPN Technologies (Cisco, Watchguard, Draytek)
• Good understanding of Backup/DR solutions
• Corporate Antivirus solutions (Sophos, Symantec, McAfee)
• Solid understanding of VMware
Desirable Skills:
• Exchange 2013
• Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop
• SAN Technology
• Avaya and 3CX phone systems
• Linux
• SharePoint
• Disaster Recovery
Key attributes:
• MCP, MCSE and CCNA or equivalent would be desirable but not essential
• Full UK Driving License and Car
• Customer focused and pro-active with regards to fulfilling the client's requirements/expectations
• Enthusiastic and motivated
• Prepared to work out of hours / on call when required
