Electronic Engineer - Analogue & Opto-Electronics - UK Based/100% Remote Working

£87,500 plus excellent benefits & bonus/Remote working

A global leading cutting edge technology business require an experienced Electronic Engineer, ideally with a strong knowledge of Analogue & Opto-Electronics.

As the Electronic Engineer - Analogue & Opto-Electronics, you will contribute to developing highly innovative research-driven ideas, empowering people and organisations to achieve more. They seek a completer finisher with a growth mindset who can enforce a high quality and compliance bar for a rapidly moving organisation.

They are looking for an experienced Electronic Engineer to develop complete solutions for future cloud infrastructure working alongside world-leading researchers and engineers. The team is multi-disciplinary, comprising optics, software, mechanics and electronics experts with a collaborative and agile atmosphere.

Experience required for the Electronic Engineer - Analogue & Opto-Electronics position:

  • Analogue and opto-electronics: complete design from paper study to simulation to ECAD.
  • Ability to understand system level constraints and work with lead hardware engineer and cross discipline researchers to develop suitable electronic designs.
  • Strong understanding of filtering, noise, and control systems.
  • Hands on bench debugging and use of test equipment eg oscilloscopes, spectrum analyser, logic analyser.
  • Electronic simulation software eg Spice, Ansys.
  • Prototyping with development kits, test equipment, and 3rd party hardware.
  • Altium PCB schematic and layout.
  • PCB assembly and hand soldering of surface mount components.

The desirable skills required for the Electronic Systems Engineer - Analogue & Opto-Electronics position:

  • Digital electronic design, board level and HDL.
  • High frequency analogue, radio, and digital.
  • Microcontroller firmware for Embedded applications.
  • Motors and robotics.
  • Higher level software for experimentation, testing, automation, integration, or demonstration (eg, Python, C#).

Typical day in the role of the required for the Electronic Engineer - Analogue & Opto-Electronics:

Design, source, assemble and test electronic systems required to support ongoing research activities. Likely to vary from simple quick designs with few constraints, to high bandwidth data acquisition, stages and robotics. Interactively take and develop requirements from the team to find appropriate solutions in a collaborative environment. The team is agile and priorities and tasks can change rapidly.
