Lead Electrical Engineer - Teesside - Up to £70,000 + Benefits Blackfield Associates are currently recruiting for a Lead Electrical Engineer to join a global manufacturing business on a permanent basis. Working as the Responsible Electrical Engineer, you will manage the sites HV & LV infrastructure so that all equipment is maintained safe, 'fit for purpose' and compliant with all relevant corporate and British Standards and UK legislation. The role is based on days and is a great opportunity for someone that has the tenacity to work in an environment where continuous improvement is valued. The successful candidate will be : Managing the site's HV & LV maintenance and operations strategy to ensure switchgear is safe Ensure protective earthing systems are tested and compliant (Power, lightning and static) Identification and management of an electrical obsolescence via own 10 Year Asset Life Plan Manage a central team of Electrical Engineers and Technicians, including a 24/7 shift breakdown team. Lead electrical continuous improvement activities for both central and plant assets Provide electrical technical support and guidance to the area I/E Engineers and Technicians, leading unusual or complex fault diagnosis. Develop and mentor Electrical Assistant engineer and Electricians with a view to obtaining Incorporated and Chartered status with a recognised institute Act as a 'gatekeeper', ensuring all relevant changes to both corporate and UK legislation are incorporated into local procedures and practices. Lead FEED studies and act as a project Electrical Engineer on electrical CAPEX projects Proactively work with plant electrical engineering teams to develop their preventive maintenance techniques to improve equipment reliability. The successful candidate will have significant electrical engineering experience gained in the chemicals manufacturing, or similar, business sector and have a good working knowledge of the Electricity @ Work Regulations and relevant British Standards. The role requires both HV and LV experience up to and including 11 kV networks. Chartered Electrical Engineer status is preferred although applicants who are currently Incorporated and able to demonstrate they are actively working towards Chartered status will be considered.
