Web Developer – Fully remote * Permanent working from home / fully remote working (office locations in London and the Midlands). * Overseas applicants to work remotely considered, within GMT working hours. * Are you a proven Web Developer open to a new challenge for an award-winning website design, brand and digital marketing agency? * Tech stack includes PHP, MySQL, CSS, JavaScript and WordPress. Here at Workforce Digital, we’re delighted to be partnering with an award-winning and well-established digital agency, who require additional experienced Web Developers to join their expanding team. In return, you’ll receive a £28,000 to £40,000 basic salary, based on level and experience, the ability to work from home on a permanent basis, and a range of other excellent benefits – full details below. Our Opportunity In these exciting opportunities our client is looking for you to be a proven Web Developer, where you’ll join a highly-successful web, brand and digital agency, who have an enviable list of household name clients, during a key period of growth. As a Web Developer, you’ll be a key member of the team, where you’ll collaborate with the wider group on new and/or existing retained web-based projects. You’ll need a broad-ranging skillset, along with the desire to join a progressive business and the willingness to continue developing yourself further. If you’re a more experienced Web Developer, you’ll also enjoy a more involving role supporting others. Your role * Active involvement in the full development lifecycle on a range of web-based projects for new and key retained clients, including the design, build and maintenance of their websites and apps, as well as creating new features, fixing bugs, troubleshooting and ongoing development. * Collaborating with the wider team in an Agile environment, alongside other Developers, Designers, Testers, Business Analysts and Systems Administrators, to ensure projects are delivered in a timely and effective manner, whilst meeting the clients’ requirements. * Using cutting-edge technologies to build applications with clean, functional and reusable code and libraries. In this Full Stack Web Developer (PHP / MySQL) role, the tech stack includes PHP, MySQL, CSS, JavaScript, WordPress, with responsive design and GIT version control. * Take responsibility for your own workloads and time management, whilst contributing to the friendly and down to earth culture of the business, by working closely with colleagues and clients to provide updates, developing and championing best practice, and support the development of others. Additional accountabilities for more experienced Developers: * Active technical leadership across projects. * Utilising your subject matter expertise support to guide others. * Take responsibility the workloads and time management of others. Your Skills & Experience Must have * Proven experience as a Web Developer, with high levels of competence across PHP 7, MySQL 5.6+, HTML, CSS3, JavaScript, WordPress, with responsive design and GIT version control. * A huge amount of self-determination and drive, with a passion for delivering work to a high standard and developing yourself further. Highly desirable to have * React, followed by Next and Vue.JS. * A degree of responsibility for the wider team. * High levels of competence in designing and consuming REST / SOAP APIs. * Modern Javascript and PHP frameworks, Laravel, e-commerce platforms and WooCommerce, along with design patterns, such as MVC. * The ability to increase Lighthouse performance scores. Nice to have * Symfony. * Shopware. * Package and dependency management. For example, Composer, NPM, Bower and Satis. * AWS – EC2, RDS, CloudFront, Elastic Beanstalk, Lambda, Security Groups / VPC, Load Balancing and/or Horizontal Scaling. * Node.js, Mongo, Angular, Bootstrap and/or WPML. * Browser and usability testing. Your Package & Perks * £28,000 to £40,000, depending on experience and specialisms. * 33 days holiday, including Bank Holidays. * Pension. * Plus, other excellent benefits.
