Responsibilities We are seeking a mid-level SQL DBA who will support the federal client s da programs through development and support for the client s databases. * Implement and administer SQL Server environment and ensure operational integrity. * Plan, design, and implement server replication. * Monitor database performance and optimize via query tuning/indexing or disk I/O analysis. * Create/debug/assist with database scripts, triggers, database links, and stored procedures. * Support the development of applications and the migration of legacy databases into other database environments both on-premise and cloud. * Assist developers with database logical designs, creating database objects, and loading and extracting data. * Execute installation and integration of database patching, bug fixes, one-off patches, security patch applications and enhancements both cloud and on-premise. * Automate deployment and management of database environment. * Participate in COOP and disaster recovery exercises and perform database backup, restoration, and recovery. * Manage and deploy SQL Server extensions and maintain compatibility with existing databases. * Help create and maintain database documentation including design documents, system inventories, SOPs, and inputs to system security plans. * Develop and execute migration plans for regular upgrades of all SQL Server clusters to the latest version. * Support development of complex logical, physical database, and metadata design efforts. * Develop user views and generate data models and Data Definition Language (DDL) using scripts or tools. Required Qualifications * Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a government suitability clearance. * Bachelor s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, quantitatively-focused social sciences, or other quantitative fields. * Proficiency in automating, implementing and supporting backup and restore operations * Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical information as necessary * 4+ years of data analytics experience and a passion for working with large data sets. * Familiar with SSIS using SQL Server Data Tools/Visual Studio/BIDS (Business Intelligence Development Studio) * Familiar with SQL Server Profiler * Demonstrated experience working in large-scale data environments which includes real time and batch processing requirements, as well as graph databases Desired * 4+ years experience with SQL Server DBA capacity and Python. * 2+ years experience with Databricks Additional_Requirements The successful candidate must not be subject to employment restrictions from a former employer (such as a non-compete) that would prevent the candidate from performing the job responsibilities as described.
