SunIRef:Event138 Job Summary Solution Architect (30%) o Leading and guiding a BI Team in realizing the solution on the OBIA platform (OBIEE/ODI) o Provides expert guidance on Business Intelligence skills and technologies. o Develops security and authentication standards for the BI applications o Maintains accurate and complete technical architectural documents. o Defines BI standards, guidelines and best practices for business groups and technical teams o Recommend strategies to improve performance and capacity o Collaborate with BI Administrators, Developers and Analysts for successful development of BI reporting and analysis solutions. o Work with business groups and technical teams to develop and maintain data warehouse platform for BI reporting o Assist management in the development of design policies and procedures which improve the ability to meet system requirements o Ensures overall OBIA Warehouse Configuration, Build and Load (domain load plans, domain mapping customizations) o Oversee technical modifications for ODI and RPD o Possess a complete understanding of the OBIEE environment, from dimensional modeling to front-end report/dashboard design o Oversee design, development/customization, security, migration/merging of RPD o Provide technical oversight and direction for the OBIA architecture including physical data models, ETL (ELT), logical business models and subject areas o Strong understanding of database concepts including views, tables, indexing and backup strategies. ELT/Data Modeling (20%) o Designs, develops, tests, and troubleshoots complex ELT processes in accordance with business requirements and service level agreements o Extends the data model to house additional structures as needed to meet functional requirements o Designs/customizes fact tables, aggregate tables, and dimensions. o Develops ELT audits and controls to ensure quality of data meets or exceeds defined standards and thresholds DW Architecture (20%) o Have a strong understanding of the OBIA architecture including physical data models, ETL, logical business models and subject areas o Reviews requirements, architecture, and design components of projects Front End Development (15%) o Possess a complete understanding of the OBIEE/OAS/OAC environment, from dimensional modeling to front-end report/dashboard design o Design, develop and customize RPD in a multi-user development environment o Create and administer MUDE o Configure and merge RPD's (three-way and/or multi-user patch-based merge process) o Migrate OBIEE RPD and catalog objects o Establish and maintain OBIEE security o Create detail documentation of data models, RPD customizations and complex report design General Technical Functions & Team Collaboration (10%) o Reviews requirements, architecture, and design components of projects o Provide mentoring and training services for both coworkers and business customers o Create detail technical documentation o Troubleshoots and diagnoses complex software problems o Provides for best practices and standards o Strong understanding of database concepts including views, tables, and indexing o Works with the technical business analyst to understand the design/mapping document. Provides feedback, as needed to add clarification o Works with technical business analysts to resolve any incidents o Works with application developers, business partners, management, and Data Warehouse team. o Communicates open items and issues to key stakeholders, including management, development teams, and business areas Other Duties as assigned (5%) Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor's degree and 4 years of related experience or associate's degree and 6 years of related experience or high school diploma and 8 years of related experience. Preferred Education and Experience Ten plus years of experience creating and customizing repositories, as well as creating custom reports and dashboards. Ten plus years of ETL (E-LT) experience in development, testing, and documentation. Completed multiple full solution cycle projects with HR Analytics and Financial Analytics or Student Analytics utilizing PeopleSoft as the source system. BS in Business or Computer Science degree Experience with 5+ projects as the Lead Solution Architect/Technical Lead Experience with 8+ full solution cycle Oracle BI Implementations 5+ years Oracle Business Intelligence Applications - Version .2 or higher. Specific experience with HR Analytics and Financial Analytics versions .2 (Student Information Analytics experience a plus Experience with customization and configuration of OBIA Experience customizing ODI mappings Knowledge of BIACM/FSM is required and essential Experience of setting up and configuring Oracle BI Applications with PeopleSoft as the source is essential Experience with Data Warehouse best practices, especially in the area of Extract, Load, and Transform (E-LT) methodologies Strong experience with the pre-built Oracle BI Application Very strong experience with Oracle Data Integrator ELT tool within the context of OBIA 12+ years ETL experience (5+ years Oracle Data Integrator - Version .0 or higher) 5+ years of experience with pre-built Oracle BI Application and data warehouses 12+ years OBIEE 11g/12c 12+ years setting-up and configuring OBIEE security - repository and RPD file security 12+ years Oracle 12c/19c databases Experience with Higher Education A strong customer-oriented focus and desire to achieve results Demonstrated ability to analyze current processes and recommend process improvements Excellent organization, teamwork, problem-solving, and communication (verbal and written) skills Ability to work well with people at all levels of the organization and a handle of fast paced, dynamic environment where competing interests and working multiple priorities is the norm Integration of OBIEE with PeopleSoft I-HUB (Portal) and enable SSO Authentication a plus Experience supporting PeopleSoft Applications (Campus Solutions, HCM, and/or Financials) Good working knowledge of job scheduling and monitoring tools Experience with OAS or OAC Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Oracle Business Intelligence Solution Architect will serve as the architect for the data warehouse and business intelligence projects. The Solution Architect will be responsible for providing the full solution cycle for Oracle BI implementations. This includes requirements gathering, functional specifications, data modeling, configuration, security, technical specifications, installation, development/customizations, testing, system administration, training, and support.
