Position Overview Senior administrative position that supports warehouse and production departments through SAP transactions and investigations - including cycle counting and production board transactions to ensure correct inventory and timely resolution to material supply issues. The Inventory Specialist partners with Materials Management and material systems (DMS) Leader to develop and communicate strategies to reduce inventory levels, reduce lead times, and increase quality with the intent of continuous improvement to achieve sustainable plant goals. Job Responsibilities Administers and coordinates warehouse cycle count process for multiple sites Ensures standardization and consistency of counting process, techniques, and procedures Identifies inventory control problems Acts in a timely manner to correct these problems Identifies, investigates and leads closure of any errors in the system no later than 24 hours after job completion Tracks variance commentary and provides inputs to the end of the period statement preparation process within 72 hours of job completion Raises inventory issues with Materials Leader and gains sign as needed Works closely with Finance Controller as jobs are closed to immediately identify manufacturing variance, including identification and investigation to ensure appropriate department reviews to determine root cause and counter-measure tracking Process SAP Transactions, including SAP Job Closures (COGI Errors / TECO's) Assists Finance Controller/Materials Leader with reports Supports warehouse leaders with warehouse transactions Identifies through Problem Solving Process (PSP) Kaizen opportunities that directly improve the Pall Timonium Material system to drive the core metrics of On Time Delivery (OTD), Inventory and Cost. Develop and drive Action plans to execute improvements Effectively drives and mentors Danaher Business Systems (DBS) and Danaher Materials System (DMS), while championing an environment of teamwork and associate engagement Strong understanding and compliance of company safety and environmental policies and procedures as related to this position, including reading all relevant safety literature, using required protective equipment and practicing good housekeeping Responsible for the purchase of Warehouse non-bom items Negotiate supplier quotations for additional savings on non-bom items Acts as a backup to Buyer, Planner, and Label Printing as needed to support value streams Performs other duties as assigned, including supporting direct manufacturing as needed Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma At least two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing environment or AAS in Business or related technical field with one (1) year experience in a manufacturing environment Experience in direct support of manufacturing product value streams Experience using continuous improvement tools and methodologies Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Excel Hands-on experience with most of the following Lean / Problem solving tools: DMAIC, Lean, voice of the customer, benchmarking, quality function deployment, control charts, standardized work, etc. Position Competencies Leadership: Willingness to work on the shop floor and lead by example Communication: Interpersonal skills that build productive relationships and influence others, both within the business and across organizations.
