Senior/Principal Electrical Engineer

Here at TPA we are very excited to be able offer the position of Senior/Principal Electrical Engineer Purpose of the Job: The purpose of this position is to provide electrical engineering expertise as part of the Systems Engineering function group. The Senior or Principal level Electrical Engineer will be the point of contact for key customer programmes, where occasional off-site customer facing, and control calibration support will be required. Key tasks will be development of our power systems and our products, electrolyser system, electrical power architectures, implementation of these system into prototypes and demonstration systems. This engineer will be comfortable working with requirements and complex system trade-offs to meet multiple stakeholders needs. The successful candidate will have excellent people skills, taking a pivotal communication and coordination role between the various technical teams. They will also have a strong delivery focus, using their technical knowledge to quickly resolve new issues. Job Details Key Accountabilities: * Expert knowledge in electrical engineering of dc and ac systems operating at grid voltages and up to 1MW power levels * Develop electrical architectures for our systems and electroyser systems in the 10s of kW to 1MW range * Lead technical work packages and projects * Support electrical engineering across engineering, e.g., test stand development and safety * Be the subject matter expert for all electrical testing, e.g., DCIR, HIPOT * Lead electrical trouble-shooting activities * Lead electrical engineering activities within projects * Deliver technology transfer to customers * Commissioning and calibration of prototype systems * Working with global customers and partners understand key drivers, requirements, and specifications for our product. * Conduct simulations and analysis of components * Selection and specification of electrical components, wiring, protection devices, etc * Produce component designs and specification documentation * Work with designers and suppliers acting as a technical contact * Writing reports and presenting work to internal and external customers * Manage IP – track IP space, create new IP, support patent process * Own the technical content of the design review packs Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience: * BSc/MSc or BEng/MEng in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar * Electrical Systems background and experience * Experience working with high power and/or high voltage systems * Experience in commissioning and calibration of prototype systems * >5 years relevant experience in industry or during PhD. * Chartered Engineer or working towards To hear more about this excellent company and opportunity, apply through the link and we will call you to discuss in more detail
