We are currently looking on behalf of one of our important clients for a Senior Technical Writer (Software). The role is a permanent position based in Bern Canton. Your Role Act as the primary point of contact for internal customers for all matters related to the provision of end users. Produce documentation for IT products of the organization translate software applications documentation into different languages. Lead, guide motivate one other technical writer, including the distribution of work assignments, establishing work plans objectives providing regular feedback. When carrying out Technical writing, you Create all end user documentation for IT products in English, including online help, technical guides, online tutorials marketing materials. Decide on the best format, organization appearance of new documentation online tutorials for each specific IT product. Collaborate with managers, developers deployment teams to gather the information necessary for producing user documentation. Ensure product quality by adhering to department standards using established writing methods techniques for user documentation. Investigate new technologies to keep up to date with latest developments Conduct research on topics related to technical writing to enhance skills to keep informed of new developments. Partake in Translation Project Management including managing the translation of IT products software user documentation into other languages as required. Manage the external provider of translation services by collecting validating financial offers, scheduling translation projects in line with product releases monitoring the progress assessing the quality of work. Develop maintain a global glossary carry out Resources Management Your Skills At least 5 years of professional experience in Technical Writing in English within a Software Environment. A strong Knowledge of Technical Writing Software (such as Adobe Framemaker) Help Authoring Software (such as Madcap Flare). Sound expertise in writing Training Materials Training Creation Software (such as Adobe Captivate). Very good Project management techniques know how. A good knowledge in the areas of web site development the publication of information on a web site. Skilled in software localization tools practices. Your Profile Completed University Degree (BA or similar) in Computer Science, Technical Writing, English, Communication, Journalism or a related field Persuasive with very good leadership, communication negotiation skills. Adaptable, creative solution oriented. A native English speaker, French language skills are also considered advantageous.
