*Under the direction of the Site Security Manager (SSM), but largely on own initiative the incumbent will carry out duties such as the following:
*Undertake daily administration of the Mons Security Office; Manage and update local Security Directives;
*Provide advice and support in the areas of physical, personnel, industrial security and security of information;
*Conduct and manage Initial and Final Security briefings for arriving and departing members of staff and contractors;
*Manage and maintain Agency Personnel Security files ensuring that all Mons personnel have a level of security clearance appropriate for the post that they are required to fill;
*Monitor initial and renewal requests for personnel security clearance;
*Process applications for AMIS Cards;
*Assist in the maintenance of the local Security Education Program and issue of Security Education Notices;
*Liaise with AC CI Region V, Agency Central and Site Security Offices;
*Attend Security Management Workshops, courses and meetings as required;
*Perform any other duties as may be required.
Skills and Experience
*A good general education
*A NATO security background of at least three years
*Knowledge of Personal Computers and Office Automation
*Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in English
*Excellent organizational and administrative skills;
*Accuracy and attention to detail;
*Knowledge of the NATO security regulations and procedures
*Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization, including ACO and ACT;
*Attendance at the NATO Security Officers course at the NATO School Oberammergau;
The incumbent should possess the personal qualities of tact, judgment and adaptability as well as good political awareness and motivational and listening skills. In addition, a sense of diplomacy and propriety in order to work harmoniously with colleagues and other staff, both civilian and military, from NATO and the NATO nations, as well as with staff from private scientific/industrial organizations is needed.
Due to the nature and urgency of this post, candidates holding or who have held high level security clearance in the past are most welcome to apply. Please note successful applicants will be required to be security cleared prior to appointment which can take up to a minimum 10 weeks.
