ABOUT THE MISSION YOU WILL JOIN:
The US Air Force has established the Pegasus Program to interconnect the FVEY National Defense networks to deliver a secured and trusted information sharing environment that supports Defense Cooperation, Command and Control, and the planning and conduct of operations. The Program delivers selected information sharing services to improve near real time collaboration, and facilitate access to and the sharing of critical data to enable richer Command and Control (C2) capabilities leveraging existing national applications and infrastructure to the maximum extent possible.
The current service model as defined and endorsed under Allied Communications Publication ACP 230 (Pegasus Service Operations Management Framework) by Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United States of America, and United Kingdom, has been successful, but has reached a limit of process maturity mainly owing to resource limitations, the absence of a comprehensive program roadmap, and the lack of authoritative delegated decision-making ability. This affects service availability, change management, service transitional activities, the ability to measure operational effect, and the achievement of FVEY situational awareness. The lack of effective management of these functions leads to poor user experience and inefficient, slow, and costly change management. The CSOG Service Management and Network Operations Center is being established under an international project arrangement to correct these deficiencies by placing core mission functions onsite at DLAs Whitehall, Ohio location.
