IT Service Architect (API Management) - Geneva, Switzerland

Languages: ENGLISH only.

Skills and Experience:

  • At least 10 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Proven and extensive experience in designing, building prototypes and commissioning production-level API Management solutions.
  • Extensive experience with APIs, security standards, API schemes and directory services.
  • Background in software development.
  • Experience and knowledge of UNIX/Linux and Cloud/AWS.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting complex API issues.
  • Experience and knowledge of at least one programming language and its related tools (eg Java, Maven).
  • Knowledge of REST, SOAP, HTTP protocol, OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, OAS/Swagger, RAML, LDAP, Active Directory, AWS (AWS API Gateway, computing services etc.).

Description of work:

  • Gather and document API and API Management requirements after in-depth consultations with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Implement a working API Management prototype based on an open-source solution (eg WSO2 or similar).
  • Work with other development teams to include in the prototype a diverse set of APIs from the major stakeholders.
  • Integrate the prototype with all security controls (eg OpenAM authentication server, log reporting).
  • Troubleshoot any technical and API issues as needed.
  • Engage all the relevant stakeholders and promote a knowledge-sharing environment.
  • Write a detailed technical proposal for a long-term API Management solution.
  • As needed, conduct technical review activities to keep up-to-date with the latest practices and technologies. Technical reports should be shared with the supervisor after each review activity.
  • Working API Management prototype.

  • Workshops and other knowledge sharing and culture shaping events.
  • Technical reports.
  • Documentation for the executed work.
