The primary role of this position is to manage infrastructure inspection and software development to facilitate the asset management of existing infrastructure in the state of Colorado. This position will be the interface with project stakeholders and lead a distributed team of software developers building software products to facilitate inspections and asset management. Implementing previous experience and knowledge of local manuals, guidelines and policies and procedures, this role will act as the intermediary between the client's management team and internal inspection and development teams to streamline communication and coordinate implementation of specified features. This position shall also oversee bridge inspection teams and activities and provide experience and a familiarity with a broad spectrum of structural inspection equipment, methods, and processes.
BS in Civil Engineering or comparable technical bachelor's degree required
10 years' experience in technology development with at least 4 years in software development and delivery
Project management experience supervising technical teams, software developers and managing and delivering multiple concurrent projects
Experience with current technology architecture, database design and the software development lifecycle principles
Understanding of Agile development methodology with flexibility to meet schedules and budget
Familiarity and ability to identify risks in the software development process and mitigation strategies
Familiarity with any of the following languages and frameworks
C#, Ruby on Rails, .NET Core, Xamarin
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of best practices with regards to federally mandated bridge and tunnel inspections and asset management of infrastructure
Knowledge of CDOT manuals, guidelines, policies and procedures as it relates to structure inspections and asset management
Experience in National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) inspections and field inspection reports
Familiarity in structural load rating and design analysis software
Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook)
Must have strong communication skills to coordinate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and development teams and be willing to work in a team environment
