Integration Architect- (Remote Work allowed)


NextLink are currently working with a global pharmaceutical organisation who are seeking an Integration Architect on an initial 6-month contract on a remote basis.


(This role can also be based at the client site in Spain, Sant Cugat should the successful candidate prefer.)

Job Purpose:
Participate in the definition of the architecture roadmap for an ecosystem of digital solutions
As an architect, you do more than just sketch a system. You work with Engineers, Product Managers, Sales and Medical teams to recommend the best solutions that scale, are reliable and evolve according to our vision and the data privacy and legal requirements. Solving the problem is half of the job; you also figure out the solution
As an Integration Architect, you define the best technical solution to integrate different applications and systems using the standard component of our Architecture landscape, detecting potential gaps or required improvements in these architecture components.
Support the development and business teams on architecture and technical questions, facilitating the service delivery from the Digital Hub.
Partnership with technology and service providers cross functional to ensure continuous up-to-date technologies in the area of expertise
Ensure that the integration architecture is reusable as much as possible, aligned with the Enterprise Architecture and following the standard and best practices

Key Accountabilities:
Solution design: specify and design solutions across business areas or systems. Evaluate and undertake impacted analyses on major design options
Ensure that the system design balance functional, service quality, security and system management requirements
Data drives our decision-making, help build decision leadership
Design, maintain and manage the interface models, frameworks and artefacts
Collaborate with the Data Architecture for creating and maintaining a formal data structures, data description and data architecture; this can include data models, data definitions (logical, physical, and conceptual), data flow diagrams, data dictionaries, etc. Data architecture comprises of topics such as business semantics, meta data management, meta data work flow management and Datamodelling
Ensure that the design meets all functional and non-functional requirements
Contribute to solution scoping and effort sizing with cross-functional teams
Investigate operational requirements, problems and opportunities for cross functional initiatives
Solution development and technical team supervision
Stay informed on technology trends and product roadmaps to make informed recommendations
Manage operational relationship with third party suppliers and consultants
Ensure the quality of our Architecture documentation


Minimum qualifications:
BS degree Computer Science or related field
10+ years relevant experience
5+ years as Solution Architect or Integration Engineer in a medium/large company (>$500Mn revenue), developing enterprise technology strategies and architectures, and architecture deliverables.
2+ years relevant experience in Cloud native applications using Microservice architecture and Event-Driven design using REST APIs framework
Comprehensive knowledge of enterprise systems (CRM, ERP, MES and the likes), Microsoft and cloud technologies (Google, Azure, AWS, ), systems design and integration.
Experience working with OAuth2, OpenID, SAML and API Manager
Experience in integration using Async or Sync interfaces using ESB, Web services, Rest API or streaming APIs
Proficient in software development life cycle, code management and release management in Agile environments and tools
Independent judgment and decision-making ability
Ability to identify problems and suggest mitigating and contingency actions.
Good communication skills and excellent team collaboration
Experience working with globally distributed teams and 3rd party relationships
Strong sense of ownership, urgency and drive


Preferred qualifications:
MS in Computer Science or related field
Experience in Back End languages (Java/NodeJS)
Experience in Amazon Web Services or Azure (AWS or Azure Certified Solution Architecture is a plus)
Experience in Healthcare interoperability standards like FHIR or HL7
Knowledge of Pharma industry, regulatory environment (GxPs), processes and systems will be a preferred
