Senior Data Analyst - Power BI

Our client are looking for a Senior Data Analyst to work closely with the business to analyse current processes and reporting needs gather requirements and identify opportunities for Business Intelligence to help deliver business and organisation objectives.

Key responsibilities;

  • Work closely with our senior management team and business units to gain a knowledge of business opportunities and challenges, and use BI as a mechanism to discover and visualize insights which can drive actions.
  • Design and develop Power BI visualisations, dashboards, reports as per business needs.
  • Ensure effective interactive dashboards for visual analytics (content, functionality, performance, presentation).
  • Create and maintain documentations for developed reports.
  • Contribute to and enforce governance, standards and best practice to manage the processes, technology and data for visualization/analytical applications.

Experience required;

  • At least 2-3 years hands-on working experience in optimizing Power BI dashboards with a focus on usability, performance, flexibility, testing, and standardization.
  • Expertise in Power BI Development, including Power Query and DAX for complex measure development.
  • Experience creating dynamic role-based security access within Power BI and implementing sharing strategies via Power BI Apps and Workspaces.
  • Strong experience using SSRS and Excel as a complement to the Power BI platform.
  • Experience with MS SQL Server stack (SSIS and SSAS-Tabular) and Datamodelling.
  • Good understanding of concepts related to ETL (extract transform load), data warehousing and data mining.
  • Experience and knowledge of Transact SQL language is an advantage.
  • Good understanding of MS Office, MS Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint.
  • Must have good experience translating business requirements and design into technical solutions.
  • Third party vendor and customer management experience.
  • Excellent project planning and project management skill.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple task assignments.
  • Experience in other BI tools is an advantage (ie Oracle BI, Tableau, Qlickview, etc.).
  • A 3rd Level Qualification.
