Lead Snowflake Cloud Data Platform Engineer

Lead Snowflake Cloud Data Platform Engineer is required to work on building an enterprise-wide data warehouse.

Snowflake Engineer will develop a data warehouse environment for our customers, working with large data sets to develop advanced, scalable solutions to serve reporting, BI and data science.

Snowflake Engineer will need to have experience in designing, developing and implementing advanced snowflake cloud data platform solutions using a variety of cloud solutions such as AWS, Azure and GCP.

Essential Skill Criteria

  • 2+ years of experience implementing Snowflake Cloud Data Platform in AWS and Azure/Google Cloud.

  • Experience of implementing, standard, enterprise, business critical and VPS editions of Snowflake Data Platform and understanding of differences of features in these editions

  • Deep understanding of Snowflake Cloud Data Platform architecture, storage options, query processing, different caches

  • Hands-on experience of loading data in Snowflake Cloud Data Platform, including compressions and encryption options and best practices applied in planning, staging and loading the data.

  • Deep understanding of different snowflake cloud data platform stages, and snowpipe

  • Deep understanding of following features of Snowflake Data Warehouse

    • Micro-partitions

    • Zero-copy cloning

    • Different types of tables and views

    • Time travel

    • Fail-safe

    • Data Sharing

    • Data security and access control

  • At least 5+ years of engineering, data engineering or data warehousing experience

  • Data Architecture and Modelling experience with strong performance tuning and data warehouse design skills

Nice to have Skill Criteria

  • SnowPro Certification.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, influencing, and reasoning skills.

  • Creativity and ability to think outside-the-box while defining sound and practical solutions.

Cultural Fit

  • Be transparent and collaborative when making decisions.

  • Able to work with the customer's stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements.

  • Knowledge of Agile processes (Scrum preferred)

  • Take responsibility for their work.
