Data Scientist, Machine Learning

Exciting opportunity for a Data Scientist with Machine Learning to join a global industry leader.

You will be part of an innovative team helping this global organization build out the Machine Learning layer of services that will power their products. This is working in the Sciences division of an industry leading organization. As a part of our team, you will be r ebuilding cloud-based solutions to inject Machine Learning into the code (software). This can be a cumbersome process, so instead we will be building out a platform to easily inject and implement ML models into the software. This will allow us to more rapidly add Intelligence to our product offerings. You will have the opportunity to work on products that are deployed on a number of platforms and work with cloud technology to develop products that will be used by fortune 500 clients for supply-chain needs. As a result you will be working with the sales team out of the gate to to help answer prospects' questions on how the software can resolve their businesses problems. From there you will help customize and optimize the solution for the client, and then finally support post-go-live.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • A graduate degree in a field such as mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, data science or machine learning, or a related technical field
  • Experience with the research and development of ML-based solutions, including the productization, deployment, and lifecycle management of production-level ML models/pipelines
  • Proven experience developing ML solutions with a Python ML stack : numpy, pandas, scikit-learn, keras/tensorflow, etc.
  • Knowledge and application of Data Science and ML techniques and best practices, such as but not limited to:

    • ETL; EDA; Data cleansing/preprocessing, wrangling & transforms, and visualization,

    • Feature Extraction, Engineering, & Selection; Dimension reduction techniques,

    • Hyperparameter tuning/optimization, ML model performance analysis and tuning, ML model selection techniques, Concept Drift & Model decay, Class imbalance,

  • SQL and/or NoSQL
  • Knowledge and application of statistical data analysis and modeling techniques such as ANOVA, linear models, multivariate analysis, stochastic models, sampling methods - including hypothesis testing, model validation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills - working with non-technical stakeholders

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience working with and deploying solutions within a Cloud platform

  • Experience with ML model/pipeline productization, deployment, and lifecycle management within a Cloud platform -- especially within a Microservices Architecture

  • Experience with Big Data processing: Hadoop, Spark, Flink, BigQuery,

    • Experience with machine learning on large datasets

  • Experience with Discrete-event simulation, Markov-chains, and/or MC methods/experiments

  • Experience with storage/search and related logging/presentation techniques (eg Elasticsearch/Kibana, Prometheus/Grafana, fluentd, Logstash, Solr/Lucene, )

  • Experience with orchestration and/or lifecycle management tools (eg Airflow, Luigi, MLflow, )

  • Experience with Enterprise Application R&D for an Independent Software Vendor (ISV)
