Kent Adhesive Products Company (KAPCO) is a growing company in Kent Ohio.
KAPCO is a custom coater and converter of flexible pressure-sensitive materials. Founded in 1974 in Kent, Ohio, KAPCO is an innovative business that continues to define higher standards for adhesive applications. All of the company's operations are located in a modern 120,000-square-foot facility.
Performs a variety of routine and complex administrative, technical and professional work in analysing and administering various components of the personnel system of the organization, including applicant screening, benefits and workers compensation administration, compensation analysis, employee relations, safety and training.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develops, posts, and advertises position vacancies for office and production personnel; recruits, interviews, and assists in the selection of employees to fill vacant positions; may attend job fairs.
Corresponds with job applicants to notify them of employment consideration.
Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward organization goals.
Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
Maintains personnel files with information such as; personal data, compensation, performance appraisals, warning notices, training/development, employment dates, and status changes.
Handles employee relations on a confidential basis.
Prepares and distributes written and verbal information to inform employees of policies and procedures, paid time off, bonus pay, and special employer sponsored activities.
Updates and coordinates changes in employee manual annually.
Analyzes existing benefits policies of organization with third party administrator to establish competitive benefits programs and recommends benefit plan changes to officials.
Reviews and completes workers' compensation forms and works with third party administrator to investigate accidents.
Develops training programs to advise managers and supervisors of local, state and federal policy regarding equal employment opportunities, compensation, employee benefits or other areas requested by officials.
Prepares and distributes biweekly payroll
Manages Benefit Enrollments for Employees and Dependents
Prepares and Maintains policies/procedures
Makes recommendations and implements strategies to shape organizational culture
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
(A) Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a closely related field, and
(B) 3+ years of experience in human resource management, or
(C) Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
(A) Considerable knowledge of modern policies and practices of human resources administration; considerable knowledge of compensation and benefits, recruitment, selection, training, workers' compensation and employee relations;
(B) Skill in preparing and administering job descriptions, announcements, and examinations; skill in analysing personnel programs and systems; skill in operating the listed tools and equipment;
(C) Ability to analyze and interpret comprehensive job requirements; ability to carry out assigned projects to their completion; ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with applicants, employees, company officials, and the general public; ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information; ability to pay close attention to detail; ability to understand and follow instructions.
