Business Development Director - Video, Live Content, Cloud, Broadcasting, Media, Sports, News- $100,000 - $125,000 + uncapped comms ($220k OTE uncapped) - New York

100% remote working currently - all interviews done remotely via phone/Skype.

The successful person MUST have technical understanding of video, video editing, cloud technologies and have solid background in news/sports.

My client are based in the UK and looking for their first hire in the US. They have a superb US customer base already and this person will have the chance to leverage off the existing base whilst bringing in new business. Their Cloud Video product is world class and a business which is looking to become a 'true great'. This is the first US hire, so this person must have the fire in their bellies to build potentially a whole new team from the ground up!

MUST HAVE solid experience in the media supply chain
Experience selling OEM model
New business, existing business and renewals
Have strong grasp on how media is produced and ideally live content and where editing tools fit
Strong network in media industry and senior technical buyers of media production systems
Consultative sales skills

This is an exceptional opportunity to work for an outstanding, niche business who have their own global, multi award winning Cloud Video product. The product can be provided on both on-prem and hybrid cloud platform and has VMs and Networking on the Back End bringing it all together. They work with well-known sports/news providers ensuring they have the best video technology available on the planet!

Their technology enables things like live streaming, live video via cloud, customer meetings over various global sites, global video editing, video clipping, taking live highlights etc. This is a one off position with a business who have absolutely blown their competitors out the water and have the best, most effective, fastest cloud video product.

The Sales Director will have responsibility for driving new business revenues at C-Level within their core client demographic across EMEA in the Broadcasting, Sports, Production, and Post Production industries. The core objectives of the role are to:

  • Strategy led position to develop and implement strategic business pipeline within the direct and Reseller Channel for driving new business sales within broadcast, sports, news, and corporate verticals

  • Have the ability to engage at C level within new targeted accounts, but also existing accounts to position client product effectively and miximising opportunity

  • Build and develop close relationships with 3rd party technology partners to maximize new business opportunities

  • Lead generation and top class marketing approaches alongside Marketing Director

  • Monitor pipeline opportunities using internal CRM, automated marketing and nurturing tools to nurture those leads

  • Close qualified leads at a rate of 50% within 6 months of qualification

  • Work effectively with Account Support and implementation teams to ensure effective handover of new accounts for day-to-day management

The successful candidate must have:

  • Proven pedigree of consultative selling complex solutions and or services at C-Level to the broadcast, sports, news, and corporate verticals

  • Experience in selling SaaS and Technology Solutions at a corporate level

  • Superb ability to build and bring in new business as well as nurture existing accounts and relationships to maximise potential revenue

  • Proven track record in building and closing complex multi-million £ deals

  • Existing contact network at C-Level all or some of the following: Broadcasters, Sports Rights Holders and Federations, Production, and Post Production companies.

  • Strong business and commercial acumen and negotiation skills

  • Experience in selling media technology solutions or services such as video editing, broadcast workflows, cloud-media technologies and platforms

The successful candidate will have a leading role in defining and executing the growth strategy for the company through to profitability and beyond. Most importantly the successful candidate will have a leading role in creating a true Global technology success story.
