Due to massive site investment Kronospan has exciting opportunities for Electrical Control and Instrumentation Engineer.

The Electrical Control and Instrumentation Engineer will provide Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Engineering technical support to the Chirk, North Wales site.. In particular the aim of this role is to lead the development and implementation of all I&C Strategies, projects and modifications, continuous Improvements and capital projects and regulatory requirements, including specific site safety systems (SIS), hazardous area equipment.

Principal Accountabilities
Carry out maintenance, repair, and inspection of Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control (EC&I) equipment across all departments.
Provide site instrumentation technical support.
Development and implementation of calibration and inspection systems and procedures.

Specific Tasks
Carrying out planned maintenance in accordance with the requirements of the maintenance management system.
Carrying out plant modifications in accordance with drawings, standards, and company procedures.
Managing and carrying out unplanned maintenance, as instructed.
Maintaining accurate inspection and test records to comply with current legislation as well as plant safety and quality requirements.
Fault finding and rectification for instrumentation systems.
Liaising with outside contractors and specialists to monitor work and develop on-site knowledge.

Responsibility to maintain the compliance of ATEX certified equipment used in hazardous areas, including management of inspections and reviewing inspection reports.
Carrying out electrical isolations, following Kronospan's Isolation procedures.
All works to comply with current UK legislation, engineering standards, and plant HSE requirements.
Site responsibility for the management of all safety related control systems.

Provision of leadership, development, and coaching to your direct reports.
The performance management of your direct reports to include the structured use of the Kronospan performance appraisal process.
Allocation of tasks, projects, and specific responsibilities to Electrical Engineers.
Ensure task based competencies for personnel engaged in working with safety related


Technical qualification in an engineering discipline with a minimum of 5 years experience.
Knowledge of all engineering aspects of plant and equipment.
Knowledge of recognised good practice/standards and statutory requirements.
Knowledge of Safe Systems of Work, Risk Assessment and Management of Change.
Demonstrates understanding of regulatory responsibilities, potential enforcement actions and maintains systems for compliance.
Ability to plan and organise & lead teams
Ability to work under pressure and maintain a consistently high level of performance
Ability to Investigate, understand and resolve issues quickly and efficiently
