Sensor Test Development Engineer

Our team "BGE Sensors & Electrodes" develops, characterizes and optimizes different electrochemical sensors for medical devices in the field of blood diagnostics (measurement of blood gases, electrolytes and metabolites) in order to measure various parameters in blood.

To accomplish this task, our team selects electrochemical, optical or enzymatic measuring principles and develops the optimal sensor design.

To support our development team we offer a development engineer position.

They work in the field of sensor testing, where they optimize test equipment (fluidic, electrical or similar), adjust the control of these test rigs, correct errors and test and evaluate the sensors in these test setups.

  • You will work with our technical experts on the further or new development of sensors for blood gas analysis.

  • You will support us in the development of the sensor design, assist in the practical implementation of various physical/chemical evaluations, accompany the functional tests of the sensors with suitable test methods and evaluate the acquired data with our sensor experts.

  • They support the development work of the sensor group with their scientific background and learn to understand, characterize and optimize complex electrochemical sensors.

  • You will work on your own work package or project, plan and carry out your investigations independently and prepare the necessary documentation; you will use laboratory aids and measuring equipment and analytical tools and methods to evaluate data and prepare a final report on your work.

  • We offer you a great insight into the complex and exciting development work of sensors, which are used in various medical devices on the market and have to be constantly improved and further developed.

Must Haves:

  • At least a higher technical college degree in a technical or scientific field

  • You have experience in testing and optimizing experimental setups (fluidics, mechanics, electronics, SW) and enjoy optimizing and further developing such systems

  • Either German or English fluent

  • You have experience in developing physical/electrochemical sensors, implementing and testing these sensors and efficiently analysing and evaluating the collected data

  • You have a quick grasp of technical problems and find ways to solve these problems
