About the Overall Objective:

To support the growing Ecommerce team by bringing the development of all websites inhouse. You will take responsibility for delivering first class functionality and Front End design spec across multiple websites.

About the Responsibilities:

  • To provide leadership in Magento 2 development, best practices, features, extension development and architecture design across 4 websites soon to be 6 and ever-growing therefore ..
  • Be keen and interested in growing within the role and the company and ideally recruit a team over time although the company are willing recruit above you if managing a team isn't for you
  • Use PHP to create and consume web services (eg SOAP, REST)
  • JavaScript, jQuery, and HTML
  • Design and implement ElasticSearch platform
  • Use CSS and CSS pre-processors like Less and SaSS
  • Analyse, design, code, debug, test, document and deploy applications
  • Capture functional and non-functional requirements
  • Contribute to the delivery of clear and concise requirements specifications
  • Proactively identify, communicate and address technical risks
  • Ensure your code is thoroughly tested and well documented
  • Manage external supplier relationships ie web developers/agencies

About the Requirements:

This role is ideal for web developer either inhouse or agency-side person looking to come inhouse

  • You will have knowledge and experience of both Magento 1 and 2
  • It would be an advantage if you are from a retail

About the Person:

  • Both creative and analytical in equal measure you will have a strong eye for design and detail
  • Able to deal with multiple tasks, maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Highly attentive with a keen eye for detail
  • Computer literate with excellent Excel skills
  • You will be commercially aware with strong business acumen
  • Personable, will fit well with the existing team - every single person I've interacted with here are all very helpful, welcoming, motivated and non-hierarchical
  • Confident, upbeat personality

About the Package:

  • £40,000 - £45,000 base salary, possibly £1-2k more
  • Pension
  • 20 days holiday + statutory bank holidays, (non-negotiable). Rises 1 day per year of service to 25 days
