What can you expect from life at Thomson? Read some of our employee testimonials:
I joined the company as director of the water team last year and have responsibility for both the freshwater and marine teams. I've found the culture of the company refreshing - there's a fast-pace approach to decision making which means that ideas are not just discussed, but implemented! Although there is a large intake of temporary staff each year, people are given plenty of opportunities to raise issues and influence the way things are done.
Thomson has provided me with the opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of projects from a variety of sectors. The company fosters a positive atmosphere where everyone feels valued. The support team are fantastic and work tirelessly to make life easier for everyone else. Thomson thrives on innovation and actively engages with research institutes to improve the effectiveness of its survey methods. People are recognised for their achievements and there are plenty of opportunities for career progression. I recommend Thomson for anyone considering a career in ecology.
Working at Thomson over the last seven years has given me so many opportunities to learn and progress in my career. As we work on such a wide range of projects and as everyone is so keen to help each other learn and develop, I have been able to rapidly build my knowledge and experience. I have always felt well supported by my managers and the wider team and I have learnt so much through the advice I have been given by others, as well as shadowing and undertaking training courses.
We are looking to fill several vacancies, successful candidates will live within commuting distance of one of our offices in Birmingham, Cardiff, Guildford or Leeds, or be happy to work remotely with the ability to travel to our site in Aylesbury, when required.
