Environment & Release Engineer
Three years in a 3rd Line technical role or Release Engineer role is essential as is knowledge of:
- Jenkins integration
- Automation implementation
- Shell Scripting experience (ie Python, Bash, Perl etc)
- Working with version control systems
- Experience of CI/CD pipelines
- Linux knowledge
- Experience of handling non production environments and co-ordinating activities
- Experience of Jira and/or Confluence
- Good stakeholder management experience
Ideally, you will be educated to degree level or equivalent with ITIL foundation accreditation or greater. IBM Certified System Administrator accreditation would also be useful.
Good understanding of networking and common network services would be a bonus as would knowledge of IBM OS/400 Operating Systems and/or exposure to IBM WebSphere or comparable technology such as JBoss or Tomcat.
The Environment & Release Engineers will play a key role within the organisation and will suit candidates with a high technical aptitude who pay attention to detail at all times, Focusing on providing support and release activities to both internal and client infrastructure, client support as well as new project work.
These roles involve building an managing/supporting environments across Windows, IBM OS/400 and Linux Operating Systems using in house developed tooling. The individuals working in these roles will have a background in Shell Scripting and be will be competent across a number of technologies such as Powershell, Python, Bash and Jenkins.
The role requires high levels of motivation and organisation and the ability to plan, manage and prioritise workloads.
In you will receive a salary of up to £45,000, profit related bonus scheme, 24 days annual leave and life assurance of four times your salary. On completion of the probationary period you can join the group pension plan and obtain up to a 6% match contribution into your pension plan.
