Unit Manager - Skilled Nursing Facility

The Unit Manager is responsible for the overall management of the resident living area; the supervision of the direct care staff and the coordination of the services provided by other members of the interdisciplinary team. In an assigned unit, the Unit Manager is responsible for assuring that all services are delivered in an effective, caring, and cooperative manner.


  • Experience with individuals with, developmental disabilities, preferably in a residential setting

  • High-school diploma or GED required

  • Direct Care/Aide experience preferred.

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Current Ohio Drivers license and proof of insurability if required to drive a company owned vehicle.

  • Supervisory experience preferred

  • Current CPR and First Aid preferred

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervises, instructs, assists, and evaluates direct care associates as well as interviewing and training.

  • Prepares work schedules to assure adequate coverage on the unit.

  • Communicates and enforces all policies/procedures of Heinzerling Community.

  • Coordinates overall implementation of each resident's individual plan (IP).

  • Investigates and reports suspected resident abuse or neglect.

  • Keeps Program Director apprised of all current unit operations, changes, problems, or requests.

  • Communicates residents' needs, status, and issues to on-coming staff on a daily basis.

  • Pay - $14.00 per hour starting wage with shift differentials as well as weekend differentials if applicable.

  • Shifts: 1st shift = 7A-3;30P, 2nd shift = 3P-11:30P, 3rd shift = 11P-7:30A
