V&V Systems Engineer

We are currently recruiting a V&V systems engineer for our client based in Switzerland. This would be a Permanent position paying up to £100,000 per year.

Validation and verification (V&V) consist in testing each equipment interface and functionalities as specified by customer. New equipment must be validated and verified prior aircraft installation (helicopters, airplanes, UAVs) to ensure performances meet customer needs. The V&V engineer oversees this phase of equipment design and validation. Her/His activities start with defining setup to connect with the tested equipment, it includes cable, mechanical, hardware and software tools. The V&V Engineer develops test scripts and other tools to allow equipment verification and executes tests. Documentation is significant part of the position, the employee writes test procedure and test reports.


  • Define V&V system strategy according customer requirement
  • Specify verification test bench and architecture
  • Develop test scripts for equipment automatic testing
  • Perform electrical test on equipment
  • Establish traceability matrixes, coverage and verification matrixes


  • Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science
  • At least 5 years of industrial experience as System Engineer, ideally on the Aerospace sector
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally, with customers and at all organization levels
  • Ability to interact with multi-disciplined professionals to understand and make necessary tradeoffs and decisions
  • DO-254/DO-178C/ARP-4754 knowledge is an advantage
  • DO-160 knowledge is an advantage
  • ARINC653 RTOS (VxWorks, PikeOS or similar)
  • Embedded Software (C, C++, LUA)
  • Linux RTOS
  • Use of debugging tools (software, JTAG probes, simulators, etc.)
  • Configuration management (SVN, GIT, CVS, etc.)
  • Script knowledge for test automation (python, bash, etc.)
  • Project management skills (tasks definition, planning setup, tracking)
  • Fluent in English, French is an advantage
  • Reliable, responsible and customer-oriented personality
  • High resilience and ability to work in a challenging and very dynamic environment
  • Team oriented with a desire to tackle new and unique problems
