Senior Desk Support Analyst - Client Facing | Zurich City | 12 months +

For a project at our client's site, an international bank based in Zurich, we are looking for a Senior Desk Support Analyst.

As a key member of a small, dynamic team of senior technologists, you are expected to provide support to not only business users directly, but to your colleagues in both technology and quant/risk teams.

Your Qualifications:
  • Several years of proven working experience in a similar role within global environments, preferably in trading and/or reinsurance areas
  • Ability to pick up and support new applications and processes quickly
  • Experience in infrastructure cloud/virtualization
  • Well versed in Scripting such as PowerShell/Batch or similar
  • Strong user skills in Excel (VBA etc.)
  • Solid knowhow with relational databases, eg SQL Server (reading/writing queries would help)
  • Experience in navigating and understanding of .NET C# code
  • Knowledge of Windows Administration and troubleshooting
  • Very strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proactive person who seeks to continually improve tasks and processes and takes ownership and responsibility to solve issues
  • Ability to work flexible hours: On Call work on evenings and weekends
  • Fluent in English
Your Responsibilities:
  • Provide support at all levels directly to both front and Back Office teams, as well as colleagues in the technology teams
  • Support of Quant/Risk teams with niche industry tools and applications as well as proprietary systems
  • Proactively improve processes and tasks whilst working in an exciting, ever-changing environment.
  • Assistance with infrastructure and service build-outs (clustering, IIS, Vendor applications etc.)
  • Working with our external hosting platform partners to ensure a stable, performant operating environment
  • Proving support to the development team with their DEVOPS platform (build server maintenance/configuration etc.)
  • Being the initial support contact for various business units and the resolution or escalation of any issues they may encounter
  • Ensuring internal and company-wide standards for availability and continued deliverance of services and functions are met and maintained
  • Support of the technology teams with various tools and services
