An exciting part time, flexible opportunity has arisen to support the growth of the Landscape school at the College. To support this growth we are looking for a passionate and highly motivated individual to teach Horticulture / Landscaping and Eco Construction skills as part of the Post 16 provision and Schools Programme.
The College offers C&G Level 1 and Level 2 qualification in Horticulture and is looking to develop the area of Eco Construction for its Post 16 learners.
We also offer the Schools programme which is designed for learners aged 14-16 who are referred to the College from local secondary schools. Some of the learners have challenging behaviour or are disengaged from learning in a traditional setting. Many are considered at risk of becoming NEET.
We are looking for people with enthusiasm and passion for "the outdoors / sustainability" Horticulture / Landscaping and Eco Construction and the ability to share their skills and experiences with the learners.
The successful candidate will possess excellent learner management skills coupled with the tenacity, commitment and patience to deal with a variety of learners, many with ALN and challenging behaviour. Classroom support is provided for these students.
You will be required to be develop creative teaching experiences employing a variety of teaching methods to motivate and inspire the learners in a range of vocational settings.
As a clear and confident communicator, you will have the ability to create a positive learning environment and support a learner's potential regardless of their starting point.
An ideal candidate will possess a range of industry specific qualifications and recent experience of working in a relevant role. You will be required to teach across a range of courses and exam boards, including BTEC, City and Guilds and Agored. You will possess/or be prepared to work towards a recognised teaching qualification and be able to adapt your teaching style to meet the needs of a variety of different abilities.
