MLA College has a significant advantage in its educational reach in marine and maritime, and in recent months has also launched our campus based English Language Centre. As many new courses are now under development MLA College are looking for a Marketing and Sales Officer who is confident, energetic, self-driven and innovative with a passion for marketing and targeted sales success!

Working with senior managers, academics, visual and digital production experts, and partnership specialists, the post holder will be responsible for the local, regional, national and international promotion of the MLA College, and its partner companies.

Application Deadline 13 th March 2020 with interviews taking place on the 23 rd March 2020. Successful candidates will be expected to have a 10 minute presentation prepared, further details will be provided upon invitation to interview.

The main responsibilities of the Marketing and Sales Officer will be to effectively produce and deliver MLA marketing campaigns, establish and maintain a social media presence, with the ultimate goal of meeting and surpassing sales related targets. Other duties will include;

  • Researching potential markets for student recruitment
  • Developing advertising and promotional campaigns for new and established programmes and training courses with bespoke messaging as appropriate
  • Managing and maintaining professional client relationships
  • Maintenance and development of the MLA brand marketing on a day to day basis
  • Construct a PR presence for the College, corresponding with any media and advertising outlets
  • Undertake research and performance analysis (for example track sales data, analyse trends, demographics, pricing strategies) and other information and report to senior managers as and when appropriate
  • Establish a marketing and promotional schedule(s) to support our in-house and distance learning timetables
  • Provide a first point of contact for information about MLA products and services
  • Attend worldwide trade shows
  • Travel to meet clients as required
  • Representing the MLA College, their partners, and sibling partner companies at all times

The successful candidate will be reporting to managers who are not always available on a day to day basis so the post holder needs to be self-reliant. Other essential attributes and experience required include the following;

Additional Notes

  • This role may involve hours which sit outside of a standard working day
  • The post holder will be expected to comply with company policies and procedures
  • Based in our Plymouth City Centre Office but working closely with our marketing team in Berlin
  • There will be a requirement to travel within the UK and internationally as part of this role
