STEM Graduates into Business are pleased to be adverting a vacancy for a recent graduate (within last 3 years) with a degree in computer science or similar, to work with HCI in Newton Abbot.
HCI currently have a vacancy for a Junior Developer / Tester to join their team who will interact with people across project management, graphic design, marketing and video production. HCI is a rapidly expanding digital health services company, working in partnership with Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust. They produce health information videos and build digital platforms, such as apps, for patients, clinicians, paid and unpaid carers and have an extensive track record in making a difference to patients and the health system.
Ideally you should have:
Experience of at least two of the following: Python, PHP, AWS, React/Native, Selenium, HTML5/Css3/Query
Experience of at least two of these applications and platforms: Articulate, Moodle, WordPress, Symfony, Django, Wagtail, Expo, Robot Framework
You should also be:
- Passionate about web development projects, self-motivated and organised
- Possesses an enthusiastic, positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Be a team player
- Be self-motivated as they have a number of projects running at any one time
- Have a strong work ethic.
- Able to drive is an advantage as HCI are based in Heathfield (TQ12 6TZ), and there may be requirements to visit clients (mileage/travel allowance paid)

This role is being advertised as part of STEM Graduates into Business, a European Regional Development Funded project delivered by the University of Plymouth Careers Service. Its aim is to increase the number of paid internships available to recent graduates with small and medium sized enterprises based in Devon. Funded until spring 2021, the project should produce 80 internships with 80 separate employers across the county.
By providing support and funding to the SMEs, it is hoped that a cohort of graduate employing SMEs will be created which will continue to employ graduates beyond the life of the project.
