Job Title: Implementation Engineer (Telecommunications installations)

Location: London

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: £55000 Plus excellent benefits and bonus

Job Summary

Responsible for the success of major and multiple projects with a strong customer focus when required. Development of budgets, obtaining quotations, placing orders, checking method statements and supporting the installation works for the equipment augments and site exits. Undertakes maintenance audits and maintains the battery asset schedule.

Works under minimal supervision, performs a wide range of assignments requiring analysis, innovation and judgment.

Job Description

Supports the implementation of new and ongoing support to existing and new Critical Infrastructure (mechanical and electrical) systems serving the Data Centre Network and Colocation services across the EMEA region.

Checking of supplier method statements and to provide attendance to critical and sensitive plant replacement activities.

Report regularly on new infrastructure project status.

Create and manage purchases orders as required for new requirements, liaising with vendors to ensure timely delivery and utilizing internal systems for tracking and shipping of equipment for new installations.

Undertake regular maintenance audits across 50% of the EMEA data centre estate. Maintain control of battery assets.

Resolves escalations as requested by team or management. Escalations are treated as urgent and worked immediately.

Experience

Self-motivated individual with strong Electrical high resilient power and ideally some Mechanical services background. Will be High Voltage qualified.

Ability to effectively present and receive complex information with attention to detail, and to give clear and unambiguous instructions.

Effective time management and prioritisation skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously,

Ability to operate in a team working environment, will possess good interpersonal skills, and will be accountable for the tasks assigned.

A Comms background would be useful.

Technology requirements for this position include knowledge on:

• DC Power systems

• UPS systems

• Battery plants for DC and AC UPS applications

• Low voltage switchgear installations

• Standby Generator installation

• Mechanical cooling installations

• Routine preventative maintenance

Excellent oral and written communication skills, with an ability to communicate effectively.

Position will require UK and International travel as dictated by business demands.

Will be required to work outside of standard hours and occasional weekend working as required by management.
